Building a network of Graduate Women in Computer Science
The Graduate Women in Computer Science Group at UNC Chapel Hill is a community of female graduate students to connect with each other and others in the Computer Science department, to foster an environment of collaborative research and to be a support system for each other.
This group was started in January 2014 to help connect graduate women in different computer science areas and at different levels in their graduate studies. In August 2014 the GWiCS@UNC Chapel Hill started the big sister program for incoming graduate women to provide mentorship for starting their graduate studies and act as a resource to the university, the computer science department as well as the Chapel Hill and Research Triangle Park area.
